Kindergarten Teacher Leave Replacement 

The Kindergarten Teacher Leave Replacement holds primary responsibility for the implementation and development of the CGPS Kindergarten curriculum and the success of its students. The Grammar School Teacher is committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level departmental team. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Create unit plans that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills. 
  • Use grade level guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records and writing report cards accordingly. 
  • Collaborate positively and respectfully with all members of the Grammar School community, including colleagues, school administrators and parents. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Belief in and alignment with Columbia Grammar’s core beliefs and educational philosophy 
  • Proven track-record to high achievement in the classroom 
  • Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred 
  • Minimum of two years full-time teaching experience 
  • Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in Early Childhood 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with parents 

 

Work Hours 

  • 7:45am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday 
  • Weekly faculty meetings (Thursdays until 4:30) and department meetings 
  • August 27, 2019 - December 20, 2019
