ABOUT OUR CAMP

The newest division of the Columbia Grammar Summer Camp will offer an interdisciplinary program where all campers can feel success in exciting activities geared specifically for older students. All groups are led by Columbia Grammar teachers.

FACILITIES

Campers use air-conditioned third and fourth grade classrooms equipped with computers, art supplies, libraries, games and more. Our unique outdoor play yards are surfaced with a specialized rubber cushioning for safety. Other facilities include a gymnasium, 60-foot indoor heated swimming pool, and recreation center.

DAILY SCHEDULE

Camp hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. A typical camper may begin with a choice activity such as art, coding, computers or games, and then continue with an organized physical sport or fun fitness game. An afternoon may consist of a philanthropy project, arts & crafts, or STEM, followed by swim and conclude with a closing meeting.

Children bring lunches from home, and the camp provides two nut-free snacks daily.

PHILANTHROPY

Campers will be active in philanthropy with organizations such as ALSF (Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation) in support of childhood cancer research, and Project Linus, which provides homemade blankets to children in need.

SWIM, SPORTS, FITNESS & FUN

Campers have the opportunity to swim in our indoor, heated pool. Qualified swim instructors supervise free swim in a small-group setting. In addition, a lifeguard is always on duty when children are swimming.

Campers will improve their physical skills through a variety of sports and fitness games. Children will also practice yoga and guided meditation.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Art projects may be inspired by various artists or designers. Other arts & crafts activities include jewelry creation, cartooning, mural making, and more.

Campers will dive into STEM projects, such as Scratch, or create their own machines.

In the past special events included a talent show, dance party, cupcake decorating contest, and color war!
