About Our Camp
Our camp emphasizes a child-centered environment where the campers can choose from a wide variety of activities throughout the day. All groups are led by Columbia Grammar head teachers. Our camp provides a warm and nurturing environment for younger and first time campers. Campers use air-conditioned pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms as their home base. These are well equipped rooms with large block building areas, computers, an arts and crafts center, a dress-up area and a library.
Our three unique outdoor play yards are surfaced with a specialized rubber cushioning for safety and equipped with splash pools, sprinklers, climbing equipment, play houses, basketball hoops, picnic table and Little Tikes ride- on cars. Other facilities include a gymnasium, 60 foot indoor heated swimming pool, art room, recreation center and lunch room.
Our daily schedule runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. A typical camper’s day may be as follows: a morning art project, swim period and snack-time, followed by afternoon sports and games or gymnastics and sprinkler time. We pride ourselves on spending most of the day outdoors in swimsuits, and offer plenty of time for free play.
Free swim and instructional swim with qualified instructors, indoor soccer, basketball, cooperative team games, kick-ball, gymnastics and many more athletic and sporting activities.
Projects may include fabric design, painting, mural making, hat making, collage work, sand picture tubes, jewelry making, modeling magic — to mention but a few of our projects.
Children can also choose from activities including: board games, computer games, block building, legos, and dramatic play. Each week includes a special theme week.
Past theme weeks have included: Safari Week, Sports Week, Fairytale Week, Under the Sea Week, and Teddy Bear Picnic Week.
