Benefit Honoring Dr. Richard Soghoian

Over 900 CGPS parents, faculty and staff and alumni came out to celebrate our community and pay tribute to Dr. Richard J. Soghoian at our annual Benefit on Wednesday, March 8th at Cipriani Wall Street.

For 36 years, Dr. Soghoian fearlessly transformed CGPS into what it is today: put simply, the best private school in Manhattan. Beyond our impressive physical structure, which our students enjoy each and every day, our children learn from the finest teachers who truly shape them into the people they are destined to become. They graduate from CGPS inspired and prepared to be successful. This is thanks to Dr. Soghoian’s leadership and vision for our school.

The event was a true celebration not only of Dr. Soghoian’s vast achievements but also our community at large for coming together to celebrate and show our thanks. It could not have happened without all of the volunteers who donated their time and energy to ‘cheerlead’ and encourage all members of our community to participate in the event in some way, shape or form. It was also the effort of so many who participated in the Journal. Over 400 trustees, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and past parents submitted entries to share their thoughts about CGPS and our visionary Headmaster. Additionally, the entire community came together to produce the documentary that was shown as part of last night’s program. From students and faculty to current parents and past and present trustees, everyone had a rich story to tell that weaves together the fabric that is CGPS. Click here to view the video.

The jovial spirit of the evening served to pay tribute to the man we all know and love, and thank him dedicating his life to our children and our school. Simultaneously, we were all able to pave the way towards the future, as Dr. William Donohue and Dr. Soghoian took the stage together for the first time in front of nearly 200 faculty and staff, past and present, and so many CGPS families from Pre-K to Grade 12.

It was an evening to remember!
